Dr. Martin Beck

Until Carlyle’s exit from the Messer Eutectic Castolin (MEC) transaction in February 2005, Martin was CEO of MEC. In this capacity, he implemented the restructuring plans for MEC, which included amongst others the elimination of unprofitable activities, optimizing capital utilization and the supply chain and installing completely new incentive structures.

Prior to joining MEC, Martin headed worldwide service and spare parts division for DEUTZ AG. In this capacity, he implemented a new marketing and product management concept as well as a completely new sales and distribution structure, which in spite of a weak market environment resulted in significantly increased sales. Before being named worldwide head of service and spare parts, Martin was the personal assistant to Anton Schneider, then CEO of DEUTZ AG, and head of public relations.

Martin studied business administration at Regensburg University and received a Ph.D. from the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt in business administration.
